I think all city councils in the 27 member states should have a European dimension. If we want to bridge the gap between the “ordinary” citizen and European Institutions, we should begin at the first level : provide information, organise conferences and debates in the villages and cities all over the E.U., so that everybody would feel more concerned about European issues. It would also be a means to help citizens to develop their own judgement…

  1. I think most people don’t care at all about the EU and you can not force them to care by organising conferences.

    What subjects should be debated? Especially on the local level. I really like the concept of the EU but essentially the EU should not have the power to interfere with locally important subjects and therefore there is no need to give city councils a European Dimension.
